From Huawei to founding iMpact: the spirit of Shenzhen

Writer: Chris Pereira  |  Editor: Rao Guoting  |  From: Original  |  Updated: 2024-12-31

My name is Chris Pereira, founder and CEO of iMpact. Over the years, I have closely witnessed the rising competitiveness of Chinese businesses — from technology giants like Huawei and Alibaba to automakers such as BYD and Geely.

But their global pursuit is about more than profit: it’s about fostering cultural exchange, building mutual understanding, and contributing meaningfully to the global economy.

At iMpact, we are dedicated to empowering Chinese enterprises with the speed and quality that Shenzhen embodies — what we call “Shenzhen Speed” and “Shenzhen Standards” — to explore and succeed in overseas markets.

My Shenzhen story began two decades ago after I came to China as a student at Zhengzhou University. I was fortunate to spend four years working in Huawei’s public relations department, where I first noticed the great potential for Chinese companies abroad. In 2020, driven by this opportunity and inspired by Shenzhen’s indomitable spirit, I founded iMpact.

At iMpact, our mission is clear: we help Chinese businesses generate profits, forge partnerships, and solve problems in international markets. We provide comprehensive services — compliance research, sales and marketing, brand building, investment consulting, and talent recruitment — all executed with Shenzhen-level efficiency and quality.

We operate on a principle that if our services don’t meet the high standards we promise, clients pay nothing. That’s how much we believe in “Shenzhen speed and quality.”

Two core Shenzhen values resonate with me deeply: the relentless problem-solving attitude in the face of challenges and the emphasis on rapid, productive responses. These values are what drive iMpact every day.
