Shenzhen's first theme park has recently introduced a new attraction inspired by the popular Chinese period drama “A Dream of Splendor” in partnership with the show’s producer, Tencent Video. Spanning an area of 20,000 square meters, the space recreates iconic scenes from the series, offering visitors the chance to pose for photos, dine and enjoy tea at retro-style eateries, witness live performances, shop for souvenirs, and engage in interactive games.

The acclaimed show, launched in 2022, narrates a captivating romantic tale set in Bianliang, the vibrant capital of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). This period is widely recognized as an era of significant accomplishments and technological innovation in Chinese history, characterized by a populace living in opulence and possessing refined tastes in art and lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the theme park has modified its grand gala show, which has been staged more than 6,000 times over the past two decades. Shenzhen Daily photographer Lin Jianping provides an intimate look into the latest addition at Splendid China-China Folk Culture Villages in Nanshan District.
