The GBA Alliance of China Sensor and Internet of Things (IoT) Industry was officially unveiled in Guangming District on Aug. 16, 2024. This milestone event has solidified the district's position as the country's premier smart sensor industry hub, propelling it toward significant growth and prominence.

Amidst the ongoing global technological revolution and industrial transformation, smart sensors have emerged as a critical component for the digital transformation of various sectors. By serving as essential tools for information sensing and data collection, smart sensors play a pivotal role in advancing the "Made in China" initiative and driving innovation across industries.

Guangming has strategically prioritized the development of the smart sensor industry, fostering its exponential growth to become a multibillion-dollar industrial cluster. This year, Guangming introduced a comprehensive "3+3+1" industrial cluster development system, with a significant focus on smart sensors. 

Specialized industry support policies have been implemented, including the establishment of a 5 billion yuan smart sensor industry fund, the creation of the first smart sensor industrial demonstration park in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), and the inception of a MEMS pilot line for research and production purposes. With 136 sensor companies already attracted, Guangming District saw an output value exceeding 14 billion yuan by 2023, positioning itself as a frontrunner in smart sensor industry aggregation nationwide.

The formation of the alliance in Guangming marks a pivotal moment for industrial advancement. As the sole national-level alliance organization in China's sensor industry sector, the China Sensor and IoT Industry Alliance has been instrumental in driving technological progress and enhancing industrial capabilities. The alliance's involvement is expected to catalyze industrial transformation and evolution, empowering Guangming to gain a competitive edge in the burgeoning smart sensor sector.

The establishment of the alliance in Guangming promises to invigorate the region's sensor industry, fostering enhanced coordination among GBA enterprises and industrial resources to drive high-quality development across the sector. On the inaugural day of the alliance, a series of thematic sharing sessions occurred, offering valuable insights into the sensor industry ecosystem in Guangming. Noteworthy figures from both government agencies and leading companies shared their expertise, underscoring the collective commitment toward advancing sensor technology and propelling the industry's evolution.
