SZ makes kindergarten info disclosure mandatory

The education authorities in Shenzhen will disclose and promptly update basic information of kindergartens within its jurisdiction to the public on a yearly basis, as per the Shenzhen Kindergarten Information Disclosure Management Measures. The measures are set to be effective Jan. 10, and be valid for five years.

The disclosed kindergarten information will encompass basic details, specialized information, and other relevant data not prohibited by existing laws and regulations. Basic information will include the kindergarten's name, license number (or institutional legal person certificate number), approval date, registered address, affiliated street community, legal representative, sponsor, principal (administrative head), educational approach, academic level, size, nature, student population, enrollment procedures, financial status, tuition standards, disciplinary policies, annual inspection outcomes, staff qualifications, curriculum structure, quality assessments in child care and education, and contact details. Special information will cover establishment and operations, teacher recruitment, meal services for children, cessation (or pause) of operations, resumption of activities, oversight, as well as inspection results.
