Celebrating  the upcoming Spring Festival, Guangming District welcomed the opening  of a Spring Festival flower market over the weekend, a beloved cultural  event cherished by the local community.

Shenzhen's tradition of strolling through the  blossom-filled market dates back to the early 1980s, symbolizing a  time-honored practice for residents to bid farewell to the old year and  usher in the new season with fresh blooms.

To mark the festive occasion, the flower market  opened its doors at the bustling Guangming District Mass Sports Center,  featuring a delightful array of offerings across four themed zones,  including flowers, dining experiences, cultural exhibits, creative  products, and traditional Spring Festival goods. This enchanting market  seeks to provide a diverse experience for locals to enjoy leisurely  strolls amidst blooming wonders, entertainment spectacles, and culinary  delights, inviting all citizens to partake in the festivities.

Situated at the crossroads of Guangqiao Road and  Huaxia Road in the heart of Guangming Subdistrict, the flower market  boasts 14 vibrant sales booths showcasing auspicious Spring Festival  flowers and potted plants. Complementing this floral spectacle are 18  dining stalls offering a diverse range of cuisines and 10 booths  dedicated to presenting and selling traditional Chinese cultural and  creative products, along with live calligraphy demonstrations.

The sports center is one of the eight venues planned for traditional flower markets in Guangming this year.

Customers purchase flowers and decoration goods at the flower market.

The 2025 flower market plan embraces a dynamic 1+7  model in the district, with one main venue and seven subvenues, for  residents looking to immerse themselves in the floral wonders closer to  home. Specialized booths will be  set up, highlighting offerings from South China Agricultural University,  unique agricultural products, and boutique coffees, aiming to stimulate  market dynamics and heighten the celebratory ambiance.

For five consecutive years, the one at Maxland  shopping mall in Matian Subdistrict has been chosen as the main venue,  offering over 100 booths this year that showcase floral wonders, Spring  Festival decor, and cultural and creative products. It will open on Jan.  22, lasting seven days.
