Candlelight concert

This Sunday, the Unicorn Chamber Orchestra will stage a candlelight concert featuring love-themed film score from silver screen classics such as "La La Land," "Pride and Prejudice," "Titanic," "Call Me by Your Name," and "Twilight."

Japanese rock

Japanese rock band GOOD ON THE REEL will perform their hit songs at a live show in Futian. Established nearly 20 years ago, the band is sure to bring authentic J-pop vibes to the audience and provide an exciting experience for fans of the genre.

Chinese music concert

The Haishan Chinese Orchestra, comprised of talented young musicians, is dedicated to promoting traditional Chinese music by combining traditional Chinese music forms and contemporary music elements to create a unique music style. Their concert this Friday night will feature themes and scores from popular Chinese TV dramas and films.

Glow Shenzhen

Glow Shenzhen 2024, a spectacular light festival, will run until this Sunday. The festival features 209 light and shadow works and installations across 76 sets that were crafted by artists from around the globe. With the theme of “Infinite Illumination,” the festival sets up its main venue at the UpperHills shopping mall (深业上城) and its adjacent parks — Bijia Hill Park (笔架山公园) and Lianhua Hill Park (莲花山公园) — in Futian District.

Artistic journey via Li Xiangqun

The exhibition “Li Xiangqun” marks the unveiling of the sculptor’s first exhibition named after himself. With a narrative divided into various sections, the showcase unveils Li’s artistic journey in contemporary sculpture, immersing the spectators in a multi-faceted, multi-tiered artistic realm.

Guangdong pastry history at SZ Museum

An exhibition on the history of Guangdong pastry and baking techniques is being held at Shenzhen Museum, featuring pastry molds, historical photos, and intangible cultural heritage certificates, vividly illustrating Guangdong people’s dedication to inheritance, innovation, and artisan spirit in baking. These traditional Guangdong pastries, once commonly enjoyed during festive occasions, symbolize the region’s rich culture and lifestyle.

Cultural creative products 

The 5th Cultural and Creative Design Exhibition in Shenzhen showcases iconic works from five local designers and art groups, along with two cultural brands. This exhibition highlights the innovative spirit and creativity of the city.

McDonald’s themed store

Until Feb. 18, citizens can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere at the McDonald’s Guanghua restaurant, located on Dongmen Pedestrian Street, Luohu District, which has been transformed into a shadow puppetry-themed store. 

On the third floor of the store, a shadow puppet theater has been set up, complete with traditional shadow puppet props and fish lanterns. Customers can also engage in a pinball interactive game for a chance to win special gifts after purchasing any item from McDonald’s New Year Series. Those fortunate enough to win a shadow puppetry materials pack can enjoy the art of shadow puppetry on the store’s second floor.
