Safety and life in Futian

"Safety, it's 100% here," I often say when talking about my life in Shenzhen.
I live in Futian District but work as a dance teacher in Nanshan District. Every day, I take a taxi to commute, and one thing I've noticed about Futian is how peaceful it is.
I remember running at night — starting at 11 p.m. and coming back at 2 a.m., right near my home. It’s that sense of safety and relaxation that stands out to me. Futian allows me to freely enjoy the streets at night, and for anyone wanting to focus on life, this city is a perfect place.
After work, I often observe the peaceful daily lives of people around me, how they carry themselves and dress well, and I sometimes wonder about my own place here — am I truly meant to be part of this community? Having lived in Shenzhen for four to five years now, I’m very happy with my life. It’s a new city, full of hardworking young people, and I really appreciate that energy.
