This initiative, jointly released by the Shenzhen Market Supervision Administration and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, marks the establishment of the first national standard system for electric vehicle supercharging facilities.
The standard system was compiled under the guidance of the Shenzhen Energy Storage Standardization Technology Committee and encompasses all facets of the planning, construction, and operation of NEV supercharging facilities. It aims to provide comprehensive guidance for the standardized development of these facilities, reinforcing Shenzhen’s commitment to creating a robust charging infrastructure.
First of its kind in the nation, the standard system takes into account the current state and future trends of Shenzhen's NEV supercharging infrastructure. It organizes its framework into six main areas: basic standards, equipment systems, and station construction, among others.
Additionally, it contains definitions of key terms, specifications for supercharging equipment, and 19 specialized standards, which collectively offer a scientific foundation for ongoing efforts to standardize supercharging facilities across the city.
Recent data reveals that as of Jan. 25, Shenzhen has built a total of 1,030 supercharging stations, with an additional 134,000 charging piles installed, bringing the total number to 420,000.
