Shenzhen’s three-tier restriction system set on electric bicycles and other non-motor vehicles remains in effect until Aug. 31. Following this date, the traffic police authority will determine whether to extend or modify these measures.
The restrictions categorize areas into three levels:
In Level 1 restricted zone, electric bicycles and non-motor vehicles are banned from accessing most roads 24 hours a day. Exceptions are made for Yansan Road in Yantian District and Bisan Road in Pingshan District, where bicycles are permitted.
Level 2 restricted zone imposes a total ban on electric bicycles on all roads throughout the day, with the exception of those operating in essential industries.
Located near specific schools, Level 3 restricted zones restrict access at various times for electric bicycles, except for those used by parents or guardians for student drop-off and pick-up.
Additionally, all electric bicycles are subject to a registration system. Only those registered with the city’s traffic police department are authorized to operate on roads.
For a detailed list of the specific roads affected by these restrictions, residents can visit the official the city’s traffic police website or consult other official sources.
