Introducing Brazilian specialty coffee to China

Writer: Gabriel Scholze da Silva  |  Editor: Zhang Chanwen  |  From: Original  |  Updated: 2025-03-04

I come from southern Brazil and over the nearly seven years I’ve spent in China, I have developed a profound connection with Shenzhen.

I often say that one-third of me is Chinese, because of the cultural and spiritual similarities I find between southern Brazil and this vibrant city. These similarities have made my journey here meaningful both personally and professionally.

As a partner at Santa Coffee Group, our mission extends beyond simply supplying coffee. We aim to share the story behind every cup — celebrating the rich culture and hard work of Brazilian coffee farmers.

China was our first choice for expansion thanks to its rapid growth in coffee consumption and the opportunities it offers. By bringing Brazilian specialty coffee to Chinese consumers, we contribute to fostering a specialty coffee culture in a country traditionally known for its tea.

Our company is not just a supplier but acts as an ecosystem that develops solutions for the coffee market. We also export Chinese coffee-related technologies, such as roasting machines and high-quality accessories, back to Brazil — creating a productive exchange between the two markets.
