Helping Chinese companies go global

Writer: Sean Upton-McLaughlin  |  Editor: Lin Qiuying  |  From: Original  |  Updated: 2025-03-18

In Shenzhen, I found the perfect environment to refine my expertise and create meaningful impact.

There are countless startups and entrepreneurs building ventures from the ground up — and I see a unique space for someone like me, fluent in Chinese and deeply familiar with both Chinese organizations and global markets.

My goal is to specialize as a foreign expert in overseas marketing, branding, and public relations who can work directly with Chinese founders and CEOs. I want to help these companies develop effective strategies to expand beyond China and resonate internationally.

When I founded SageSight, I aimed to meet two key objectives. First, I wanted to continue supporting Chinese businesses by working with a diverse portfolio of clients. Previously, I focused on just one company at a time. While rewarding, I was eager to embrace new challenges and collaborate more closely with senior leadership teams.

Second, I wanted to provide a more specialized service than typical large agencies can offer. Many big agencies have sprawling teams filled with junior consultants, which can frustrate senior managers needing expert guidance.

At SageSight, we take a different approach. We’re a smaller, more focused team, but every professional involved has 10 to 15 years of experience. We don’t rely on numbers, we deliver expertise. We understand both Chinese companies and overseas markets in depth, which empowers us to provide tailored, high-impact solutions.
