Nestled atop Weibo Mountain in Shekou, Nanshan District, the China Merchants Group History Museum stands as a remarkable testament to over 150 years of development since the establishment of the China Merchants Group.

The first two floors of the five-story building are dedicated to permanent exhibitions, allowing visitors to delve deep into the timeline of the China Merchants Group, which was founded in 1872. The exhibits present a comprehensive narrative of the organization’s evolution.

The third floor features an open-air observation platform, providing breathtaking views of the Shekou coastline on clear days. The fourth floor is reserved for art exhibitions, while the rooftop serves as an expansive observation deck, perfect for enjoying the picturesque surroundings.

The museum curation includes a blend of traditional documents and images alongside engaging miniature models and vivid scene reconstructions, creating a truly immersive experience. Multimedia presentations further enhance the visitor experience, inviting guests to feel connected to the historical narrative.

Walking through the museum typically takes about 1 to 2 hours, offering a meticulously crafted journey through time. For Shekou, the museum represents more than just a collection of exhibitions; it serves as a “city showroom,” showcasing the rich heritage and dynamic growth of the region.
