Nanshan offers 15-day rent-free apartments for fresh graduates

Nanshan District has launched a new program to support fresh university graduates seeking employment in Shenzhen, offering 15 days of accommodation free of charge, to provide them with a convenient first stop during job hunting.

Currently, the 15-day rent-free accommodation in Nanshan District includes two locations: Taoli Pingshan and Nantou Ancient City, with a total planned room count of 1,000 units.

The apartments available at the Nantou Ancient City location are primarily studios, which are equipped with essential appliances such as air-conditioners, washing machines and water heaters. The apartments come furnished with tables, chairs, beds with bedding sets and wardrobes.

Meanwhile, the district offers limited “Nanshan Experience” vouchers worth of 520 yuan (US$71.55) per person for college students interning in Nanshan, or across Shenzhen. In addition, graduates with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from major domestic and international universities under the age of 35 are eligible for living subsidies of up to 30,000 yuan and 50,000 yuan, respectively, for basing in Nanshan District.

Support is also provided for talent starting a new business, including rent-free accommodation in government-subsidized rental housing for one year, as well as a range of policies for innovaiton and entrepreneurship, such as rewards, financial support and office space provision.
