The 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Model United Nations (GBAIMUN) Summer Conference will take place in Shenzhen from July 15 to 16.
Jointly organized by the Shenzhen Press, Education, and Media Group and EyeShenzhen, the event seeks to strengthen youth responsiveness and problem-solving capabilities regarding global challenges and advance the development of international education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
The inaugural GBAIMUN successfully convened in Shenzhen in March, drawing nearly 200 young delegates from over 50 top universities, high schools, and Model United Nations organizations across China.
Participants engaged in discussions on critical global issues, including artificial intelligence, regional peace mechanisms, and other pressing challenges, offering youth-driven solutions to these issues.
The event also welcomed leaders from local government departments, organizations, and educational institutions. Major media outlets provided comprehensive reporting on the conference.
This year — the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 30th year of Model United Nations (MUN) activities in China — is a pivotal juncture in the development of the GBA. The summer conference will establish connections among the world's four major bay areas to develop a global competency training platform for young students in the GBA.
