More than 330 prominent companies, universities, and research institutions from Shenzhen will participate in a major job fair to be held in Shanghai next week.

Organized by the Guangdong provincial and Shenzhen municipal governments, the job fair will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Qingpu District on April 13–14.

The strong lineup of Shenzhen's employers will include tech giants Huawei, Tencent, and BYD, as well as more than 60 listed companies and over 70 State-owned enterprises such as China Resources, China Merchants Group, China General Nuclear Power, and China National Offshore Oil Corp.

Engineers at Shenzhen-based UBTECH Robotics test humanoid service robots at the company’s research and development facility. Known for its cutting-edge AI and robotics innovations, UBTECH is a leading player in China’s rapidly growing tech sector.

Over 200 research institutions, including the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen and the Pengcheng Laboratory, will also offer job vacancies.

In total, over 600 prestigious institutions, universities, and enterprises from Guangdong Province will participate in this recruitment event, offering more than 20,000 positions. Among these positions, over 2,500 come with an annual salary exceeding 500,000 yuan (US$68,400).

Employers from other parts of Guangdong will include Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, Guangzhou National Laboratory, and Chaozhou Three-Circle (Group) Co., Ltd. — a high-tech enterprise based in Chaozhou, specializing in advanced material research and development.

Notably, a dedicated service area for overseas students will be established on-site, complemented by three online interview rooms to accommodate those unable to attend the fair in person.

In addition, a special negotiation area will be set up for the recruitment of post-doctoral stations.

To add fun to the fair, tech-powered experiences will be available for job seekers on-site, including AI resume diagnosis, AI career ability assessment, and AI photo shooting.

To the delight of video gamers, the event will feature a “King's Glory” themed photo spot and corresponding blind boxes, which are highly popular among college students.

Well-known Shenzhen chain brands of milk tea and coffee will be available, allowing young people to feel relaxed and happy while job hunting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to taste Shenzhen-branded delicacies.

Shenzhen has long been a top choice for college graduates seeking employment in China, with an average of over 400,000 graduates finding jobs in the city each year. The city now hosts nearly 7 million professionals across various industries.

In recent years, Shenzhen has rolled out a comprehensive set of measures to attract talent. These include living allowances ranging from 15,000 to 100,000 yuan for fresh college graduates, 15 days of free accommodation for job-seeking graduates, and up to 1 million yuan in financial aid for startups.
