Hexigten Banner, part of Chifeng in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Thursday hosted a series of tourism promotional events in Shenzhen to showcase the area's abundant tourism resources and vibrant prairie folk customs.
During a conference held at the Sunshine Hotel in Luohu District, attendees were treated to a video presentation highlighting Hexigten Banner's unique natural wonders, accompanied by performances that celebrated the rich culture of the Mongolian ethnic group. The audience was also captivated by a selection of local cultural products and recommendations from two travel experts.

One of Hexigten Banner's signature tourist destinations is the Hexigten Global Geopark, which is recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Spanning an impressive 1,750 square kilometers, this remarkable area consists of eight distinct regions of scenic beauty and geological significance, featuring a diverse range of landscapes, including volcanic, glacial, and desert terrains.

Designated as a National Geopark of China by the Ministry of Land and Resources on December 10, 2001, the park was recognized as a World Geopark by UNESCO on February 11, 2005.
Located 210 kilometers northwest of Chifeng and 400 kilometers north of Beijing, the park is located at the intersection of several geographic regions: the Greater Khingan Mountains to the east, the Yan Mountains to the south, and the Hunshandake Sandland to the southwest. The eight park areas showcase a stunning variety of glacial, volcanic, desert, and hydrological formations, each contributing to the region’s geological significance.
During the event, two tourism firms from Hexigten and Shenzhen signed a cooperation framework agreement, reaching a consensus on supportive tourism policies, route development and market promotion.
As dusk fell, the event continued at the Window of the World theme park, where a dynamic series of performances entertained both tourists and local residents, further underscoring the unique cultural and tourism appeal of Hexigten Banner.
