A lifelong passion for technology

My interest in technology started early, when I would take apart toys just to understand how they worked and try to put them back differently.
I began my professional career at IBM as a hardware engineer and spent a decade there. Over the years, I advanced to leadership positions such as research and development director and chief technology officer at leading tech firms.
Currently, I focus on industrial automation. Collaborating with other experts, I helped develop the Theremino System — an open-source robotic operating system designed for scientific research and education.
One memorable project involved helping a Swiss bank go paperless, which required procuring tablets. After thorough research worldwide, the bank chose a Shenzhen-based company to produce them. The project’s success led me to a new role with an attractive package, relocating me to Shenzhen’s beautiful Shekou area in Nanshan District.
I didn’t expect China had such harmonious international communities like Shekou, where people from around the world live in a green coastal area. I often enjoy strolling in the Sea World area to watch the ships and appreciate the sea breeze.
