The delegation toured the plant and learned about Beijing Enterprises Water Group’s water resource recycling and sludge disposal technologies. Following the visit, in-depth discussions took place on green technologies such as wastewater treatment, biocarbon reduction, water resource monitoring, livestock product processing, and resource recycling.
IGTIC expressed its desire to strengthen cooperation with the Belt and Road center, working together to build a green technology transfer platform and promote the exchange and collaboration of advanced environmental technologies between China and Kazakhstan. Representatives of Kazakh enterprises put forward their cooperation needs for China’s advanced green technologies. The Belt and Road center expressed its eagerness to establish a regular communication mechanism with IGTIC to share green project information in a timely manner and invited IGTIC to participate in Micro-Video Contest on Global Green Development Stories and the 2025 International (Shenzhen) Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Expo, among other events. These efforts aim to enhance cooperation in the field of green development, benefiting the peoples of both countries.
IGTIC, a fully government-funded institution established by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, is dedicated to promoting the application and popularization of green technologies. Through technological innovation and investment cooperation, it aims to contribute to Kazakhstan’s sustainable development. Going forward, the Belt and Road center will assess the cooperation needs raised by the delegation and collaborate with IGTIC to build a green technology transfer platform, promoting the localization and industrialization of green technologies.
Kazakhstan is rich in natural resources. As one of the first countries to approve the Paris Climate Agreement, Kazakhstan is accelerating its green transformation, with plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 and increase the share of renewable energy in its energy mix.
