Guan Shanyue Art Museum

Chinese name: 关山月美术馆; Guānshānyuè Měishùguǎn 

Guan Shanyue (1912–2000) was a master of Guangdong’s Lingnan school of painting, a modern style that sought to update traditional Chinese ink-wash landscapes and scenes with more detail, color and brightness.

A permanent collection of his works is held here and also at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The museum, a purposebuilt structure hugging the base of Lianhuashan, underwent a renovation and reopened in mid-2020.

You’ll need to show your passport to gain entry.
