A home far from home

Initially, I planned to return to Türkiye after completing my studies. However, Shenzhen quickly became my second home.
Fourteen years have passed, and I am still here. Culturally, I feel half Chinese now. If I had stayed in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou, perhaps I would have returned, but Shenzhen’s unique atmosphere captured my heart.
The city’s safety, excellent urban management, efficient public transport, and clean environment provide a high quality of life.
However, I believe expanding hospitals and schools is crucial to keep pace with the growing population, and I commend the Shenzhen government for its great efforts so far.
Shenzhen warmly welcomes both Chinese citizens and international talent, and this inclusiveness fuels its continued development.
