

IKEA new store to open in Bao'an

Sweden-based furniture and home goods giant IKEA will open its new store in Bao’an District’s Maxland shopping mall on June 19, marking the company’s third store in Shenzhen.

The new store spans 1,455 square meters and features six scenarios, including living room, bedroom, dining area, study room, and bathroom. It stocks over 1,000 popular small-space items, including storage solutions, kitchenware, bathroom essentials, and bedding—all carefully curated to meet local customers’ needs.
Nick Fan, IKEA Shenzhen market manager, shared during a media open day on June 17 that “We’re excited to bring inspirational, diverse, and sustainable omnichannel retail experiences and home furnishing solutions to Bao’an consumers and surrounding communities.”
Shoppers can recharge at the Swedish Deli, offering signature dishes like Swedish meatballs. The 60-seat dining area also sells packaged Swedish groceries.

Since launching its home design service in China in 2020, IKEA has designed and delivered personalized home furnishing solutions for over 100,000 households. In response to positive customer feedback, IKEA Bao'an store will also introduce this comprehensive design service as well.
IKEA opened its first store in the Dasha River area in Nanshan, Shenzhen in 2008. Driven by deep insights into Shenzhen consumers' lifestyles and strong confidence in the city's future development, IKEA is accelerating its omnichannel strategy expansion in the city.
In May 2024, IKEA opened its first Plan and Order Point on the Chinese mainland in Luohu District, marking a strategic milestone in its retail innovation.
