

Conference focuses on sustainability in digital era

The 2025 International Business Case Conference took place recently at Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU), bringing together scholars, experts, and students from around the world to discuss “Sustainable Development in the Digital Era.”
Founded by SZTU’s Business School, the event aimed to foster innovation in international education, promote academic collaboration, and create a platform for exploring new strategies in talent development.
Spanning three days, the conference attracted participants from nine countries and regions. The diverse program included academic and industry seminars, a campus tour, an intangible cultural heritage workshop, keynote speeches, a “Global Voices” panel, student workshops, lightning talks, and a private roundtable discussion.

Renowned domestic and international scholars delivered keynote addresses that focused on the theme of sustainable development in the context of digital transformation.
One of the highlights was the “Global Voices” panel, which featured insights from distinguished guests representing various global perspectives, including scholars from Germany, Portugal, Canada, and the United States. This panel fostered rich discussions on international business case-study research and teaching practices.
In addition to these academic exchanges, the student workshops and lightning talks gave young scholars and students a platform to showcase their research and innovative ideas.
These sessions not only highlighted cutting-edge research but also inspired the next generation of thinkers in business and sustainability.
Notable speakers at the conference included Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bode and Senior Lecturer Ms. Regina Brautlacht from Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, University of Applied Sciences; Prof. Dr. Mirjam Hauck from The Open University; Prof. Dr. Paula Fonseca and Prof. Dr. Lurdes Martins from the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu; Prof. Dr. Kristi Julian from Middle Tennessee State University; and Prof. Dr. Wendi Hulme from Fanshawe College.
