Shenzhong Link's west island to open for sightseeing

One of the Shenzhong (Shenzhen-Zhongshan) Link’s two artificial islands, the west artificial island, will open for public sightseeing by year’s end, as announced by Guangdong Transportation Group on the link’s first anniversary yesterday. Resembling a roc and covering 137,000 square meters, the island will feature a 2,200-sqm science education base on China’s cross-sea engineering tech. Visitors can board from Shenzhen/Zhongshan and leave from Zhongshan. The 24-km Shenzhong Link, one of the world’s toughest cross-sea transport projects, holds 10 world engineering records.
