International visitors and residents in Shenzhen can now easily access the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau’s comprehensive services for foreigners through the city’s multilingual information and news platform, EyeShenzhen.
As a key digital window for international communication, EyeShenzhen (eyeshenzhen.com) is dedicated to promoting the city globally, offering accurate, user-friendly updates to help expats navigate life in Shenzhen.

The platform recently expanded its multilingual offerings, now publishing articles in English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Russian. Coverage includes practical updates on port visa services, the “one-stop” application process for work and residence permits, and broader initiatives to support immigrant integration.
Shenzhen has taken significant steps to streamline its services for foreigners. In the first half of 2025, the city processed over 20,000 visas on arrival (VOAs) — the highest number in Guangdong Province — while cutting on-site processing time by 40%. These visas are available at four major checkpoints: Luohu, Huanggang, Shekou, and Shenzhen Airport. Meanwhile, work and residence permit procedures have been unified, reducing the approval period from 15 to just seven working days through cross-departmental data integration.
To enhance daily convenience, Shenzhen also promotes the use of the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, or "Five-star Card," which enables holders to access healthcare services at self-service kiosks citywide.
Since October 2022, the city’s International Talent Service Center has provided more than 130 life and business-related services, including visa processing, housing support, and business registration — all coordinated across 15 government departments. Additional community-based service centers and multilingual support stations offer localized help with registration, policy advice, and Chinese language learning.
