The Global Youth Talent Center of Guangming Science City (GTC) was officially launched July 30, during an inauguration event held at the Talent Port of Guangming Science City. The launch marks a significant step forward in Guangming’s ambition to become a high-level talent hub within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

With a vision to attract international youth for innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term development in Shenzhen, GTC is positioned as a global magnet for top young talent. The center plans to establish overseas branches to tell the story of Guangming’s innovation journey to the world, while enhancing Guangming Science City’s international visibility.

Leveraging local strengths in biomedicine, new materials, and research partnerships with institutions such as Sun Yat-sen University Shenzhen Campus, GTC aims to foster industry-academia-research collaboration. It also plans to work closely with global alumni associations—including those from Cambridge University, National University of Singapore, and University College London—to launch international campaigns and offer one-stop services tailored to young professionals.

A Hub for Global Talent and Policy Support

GTC’s inauguration signals Guangming’s determination to build a full-chain ecosystem for talent attraction, cultivation, retention, and utilization. As a“super hub” for resources and services, the center is designed to integrate policy support, cross-border exchanges, and entrepreneurial resources, accelerating the convergence of talent and innovation.

At the launch event, local officials unveiled the center alongside over 20 international alumni organizations, representatives from leading companies such as Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation, and young sci-tech innovators. The event featured high-level dialogues and matchmaking activities to foster meaningful collaboration between international talent and Guangming's innovation ecosystem.

Building an Ideal Environment for Young Talent

Guangming has recently rolled out a district-level talent development plan—the first of its kind in Shenzhen. Its“Talent Highland Initiative” includes comprehensive policies such as stress-free business setup, residence, travel, and life services, providing solid support for young global professionals looking to build their future in Guangming.

The GTC aims to become the first stop for young talents returning to or coming to China, offering tailored recruitment events, entrepreneurship support, company visits, and cultural exchanges. The first overseas branch is expected to launch in Switzerland by the end of the year, with further“cloud talent” initiatives in partnership with global alumni networks.

Empowering Innovation from Lab to Industry

At the event, Dr. Chen Bing’an, founder of Shenzhen Nases Smart Equipment Co., Ltd., shared his entrepreneurial journey after returning to China. Driven by a mission to close gaps in the domestic tech sector, his company has contributed to innovations in third-generation semiconductors. Dr. Chen emphasized the value of platforms like GTC in transforming overseas knowledge into national development.

Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation also presented its latest recruitment strategy and highlighted its vision to work with GTC in attracting global research talent. By linking industry leaders, academic institutions, and international associations, GTC aims to precisely match young talent with suitable career paths.

The establishment of the Global Youth Talent Center marks a new chapter in Guangming’s global talent strategy. Acting as a one-stop innovation and employment platform, GTC will serve as a launchpad for global youth to realize their ambitions, whether in research, business, or cultural collaboration.

From high-tech labs to talent-friendly housing and international education resources, Guangming Science City is building a comprehensive support system to become fertile ground for innovation. Guangming welcomes the world’s brightest minds to take root and thrive here—turning vision into impact and innovation into reality.
