The Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center (Shenzhen) presented the city's green innovation practices at a weekend seminar in Bangkok. The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China as well as bilateral regional development cooperation.
The event was organized by the Program Management Unit on Area-based Development (PMUA) under Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.

A representative of the center delivered a speech titled “Green Investment and Technology Transfer: A New Chapter in Thailand–China Cooperation,” highlighting Shenzhen’s green development journey, the long-standing ties between Shenzhen and Thailand in trade and culture, and the center’s practical experience in promoting green technology transfer and investment cooperation.
The center signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PMUA, Khon Kaen University’s Business School, and SMART Consulting and Development Co. Ltd. to establish a green, low‑carbon technology platform that will showcase Chinese technologies and innovations in Thailand.
The partners will also collaborate on a comprehensive carbon emissions reduction system that integrates monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV), while providing technical services for emissions reductions and facilitating cross‑border trade and investment in low‑carbon technologies and products.
The center also signed a separate MoU with Shenzhen Solartech Renewable Energy Co. Ltd. and Chiang Mai University to cooperate on photovoltaic water‑pumping and biochar technologies, covering R&D, industrial applications, market expansion, talent cultivation, and academic exchanges between both countries.
