As the 15th National Games approach, Shenzhen residents are eagerly gearing up for this grand sports celebration. But before the games kick off, why not join a unique vertical marathon, happening at the iconimc Galaxy Twin Towers in Longgang District?

This exciting event will gather 1,000 participants. Runners will face the challenge of climbing 73 floors, scaling a total vertical height of 369 meters. The race offers multiple categories, including individual elite runners tackling the full climb, three-person relay teams, and single or duo experience groups.

Participants will race past panoramic windows on every floor, offering spectacular views and stunning city skylines — perfect spots for photo moments while testing endurance against gravity and adrenaline.

Race dates: Aug. 23-24

Registration deadline: Aug. 14

Race venue: West Tower of Galaxy Twin Towers, Longgang District (50 meters from Exit B of Yabao Station (雅宝站) on Metro Line 10)

Categories:

Competition group: Men’s individual (300 participants), women’s individual (100 participants), and three-person mixed-gender teams (100 teams, 300 participants)

Experience group: Single or dual participants (up to 11 floors, 300 participants total)

Prizes

The competition group features a total prize pool of 30,000 yuan (US$4,175). Top individual male/female winner receives 2,000 yuan; each winning team earns 3,000 yuan. Additional awards are allocated for second and third places.

Fees

Individual competition: 99 yuan (includes race apparel, equipment pack, bib with timing chip, finisher medal, insurance, and refreshments)

Team competition: 288 yuan per three-person team

Experience group: 58 yuan per individual, 98 yuan per pair (couples or parent-child)

Safety measures

Before the race start, medical staff will screen participants’ blood pressure, oxygen levels, and heart rate. The organizers have rigorously tested and ensured the safety of the course, including lighting, ventilation, and emergency evacuation routes. On race day, referees, guides, rescue teams, security, and supply stations will be on standby.
