The passion of youth tennis lit up the summer as the first leg of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area Tennis Elite Tournament and the 2025 Shenzhen Youth U-Series Tennis Ranking Tournament (CTJ-C100) concluded at the Mission Hills Eco Sports Park Tennis Center in Longhua District after two thrilling weekends of competition, July 26–27 and August 9–10.

Across four days of fierce matches, champions emerged in seven categories: U8 short court, U10 boys’ and girls’ singles, U12 boys’ and girls’ singles, U14 boys’ singles, and U16 boys’ singles. The tournament drew young tennis talents not only from Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Shantou, and Hong Kong, but also from provinces including Fujian and Guangxi.

According to the organizers, the U-Series will continue with its second and third legs in September and October, followed by the Grand Finals in November. Each leg will run for four days over two weekends, with competitions divided into nine age categories — U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16 — in line with the series’ scientific grouping system. Top-ranked players in the points standings will qualify for the season finals, with Mission Hills and sponsors providing substantial prizes.

For players in the U10 and above categories, results from the tournament count toward the national China Tennis Junior (CTJ) ranking system, with C100 status for the preliminary legs and C200 status for the finals. All participants’ results are also included in the Shenzhen Tennis Junior (STJ) rankings, which adopt a dynamic scoring system similar to professional tennis: after each leg, new points are added while last year’s points from the corresponding event are deducted, ensuring rankings remain current.

Mission Hills Group has been hosting the Greater Bay Area Youth Tennis Elite Tournament since 2019, gradually refining and expanding its event system. “It’s now much more convenient for young players to compete,” a Mission Hills representative said. “We’ll continue to improve our services and provide a stronger platform for youth tennis exchange.”

The competition venue — Mission Hills Eco Sports Park in the Mission Hills National 5A Tourist Resort — boasts championship-grade courts meeting International Tennis Federation standards and has hosted major tournaments such as the ITF Women’s Circuit, Davis Cup Asia-Pacific matches, China Amateur Tennis Masters, and Longhua International Tennis Open.
