

McDonald's transforms Shenzhen into 'McDonaldland' paradise

As the city where McDonald’s first planted its flag on the Chinese mainland 35 years ago, Shenzhen is taking center stage in the fast-food giant’s nationwide “McDonaldland” summer campaign.

Along with 12 other Chinese cities, Shenzhen’s flagship McDonaldland locations have launched the “I’m off to McDonaldland!” theme, transforming restaurants and iconic cityscapes into immersive vacation destinations.
Leveraging the city’s unique blend of mountain and sea resources and vibrant urban culture, McDonald’s has unveiled five exclusive McDonaldland experiences designed to turn dining spaces into the city’s most photogenic hotspots and lead a new trend in experiential consumption.
Now through Aug. 31, the city’s McDonaldland locations will feature themed decor, limited-edition desserts and snacks, creative interactive experiences, and exclusive McDonaldland merchandise.
Guanghua McDonald’s 麦当劳光华店
As the starting point of McDonald’s on the Chinese mainland, the McDonald’s Guanghua restaurant at Dongmen, Luohu District, also serves as the starting point for Shenzhen’s McDonaldland. The third-floor terrace features a helipad decoration and a panoramic camera for taking and printing incredible photos, capturing your first souvenir with McDonaldland.

This is Shenzhen’s only McDonaldland flagship restaurant. The entire building has been transformed into the “McDonaldland Building.” Inside, there are McDonald’s mascots-themed benches and various photo-op areas. Outside, a dedicated “McDonaldland Parking Lot” and a double-decker “McBus” offer city tours, providing a “mobile McDonaldland” experience.
A special treat for fans is the limited-time return of the highly anticipated McDonald’s milkshake, available only at flagship McDonaldland restaurant, offering a familiar yet surprising sweet taste for the summer.
Angel Bay 天使湾

The popular little train has been transformed into the “McDonaldland Little Train,” unlocking exclusive sunset views from a unique perspective.
Dameisha Beach Park 大梅沙海滨公园
Enjoy “McDonaldland Beach,” featuring giant fry benches and a romantic and healing “Happy Meal Sunset Photo-taking Point,” where the iconic meal box silhouette blends with the sunset, making McDonald’s a witness and participant in moments of happiness.
Shenzhen Bay/Lianhua Hill Park 深圳湾公园/莲花山公园
McDonald’s is bringing warmth to Shenzhen residents’ “park life” with food carts scattered among the greenery, integrating McDonald’s into the daily lives of locals. Notably, McDonald’s Shenzhen has partnered with Meituan. Starting Aug. 10, Shenzhen becomes the first city in China where McDonald’s offers drone delivery, allowing citizens to enjoy McDonald’s food at 10 parks, including Shenzhen Bay Park and Lianhua Hill Park.
