

Shekou to hold welcome event for intl. newcomers

New to Shenzhen? A welcome event for newcomers will be held in Shekou on Aug. 30, offering practical resources and opportunities to connect with the local community.
Organized by the Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats, the event will introduce participants to local expat service platforms designed to simplify everyday life in the city and offer practical tips on navigating cultural differences.
Professionals including a police officer, banker, lawyer, and medical practitioner will be available to share expert insights and answer questions.
The orientation event will also highlight essential apps for transport, payments, health care, and other daily services that can help newcomers adapt more quickly to life in Shenzhen.
In addition to practical information, the event provides a chance to network with other newcomers and long-time residents.
Participants can also take part in lucky draws and receive small giveaways.
Meanwhile, the Shekou Flea Market is returning to the Shekou Fishing Street Plaza from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 30.
