The expanded subsidy list also covers consumer electronic products such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches/fitness bands priced at 6,000 yuan (US$845) or less. These items qualify for a 15% subsidy capped at 500 yuan.
Beyond the newly added categories, the program continues to promote energy-efficient home appliances and upgrades. Appliances and home-installation products with first-class or higher energy/water efficiency receive up to 20% subsidy; second-class products get 15%. Subsidies for home aging-friendly renovations are even higher, at up to 30%.
The subsidy program is already active on major e-commerce platforms. More than 1,600 product categories, over 3,000 brands and roughly 200,000 SKUs are listed in the Taobao/Tmall national subsidy zone, which records an average daily traffic exceeding 150 million visits.
Consumers in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong and many other provinces and cities can access the national subsidy offerings via the Taobao app homepage or by searching “国家补贴” (national subsidy) to enter the dedicated zone and claim subsidies.
