The event began with Zhong Jiajun, deputy director general of the Shenzhen Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, offering a warm welcome to the delegation and delivering a comprehensive speech on Shenzhen’s high-quality, rapid development.

Li Xiaofeng, director of the LICC, also gave a presentation to showcase Longhua District and introduce the center’s role and mission in detail.

Amha Hailegeorgis Ayele, deputy director general of the Middle East, Asia, & Pacific DG of the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared that the Global Development Initiative strongly aligns with Ethiopia’s own goals and development priorities.

“This event provides an essential platform — not just for discussion, but for turning principles into policy and policy into tangible impact. It’s about building real, practical cooperation. The chance to connect with experts and exchange experiences with peers facing similar challenges and opportunities is invaluable. The connections we make here will undoubtedly continue to bear fruit long after we leave,” he added.

The Saturday event also provided a platform for five Shenzhen enterprises to promote their products and engage with the delegation.

Precious Habani Munyungano, director of macroeconomic planning in the National Planning Commission of Namibia, was deeply impressed by the presentation of Sino-Swed TongKang Bio-Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. Speaking to Shenzhen Daily about her interest in the company’s early cancer detection product, she emphasized the importance of early detection, noting that cancer is increasingly recognized as a leading cause of death worldwide, and many people often seek testing too late.

“Most people, I’m sure, need more knowledge about cancer detection. Normally, they only go to the hospital for testing when it’s already too late, and by then the disease is in its advanced stages. If we can spread more of this knowledge and encourage people to get tested early, that would be beneficial. Overall, I enjoyed all the presentations on the technology,” she explained.

Si Xinxi, vice president of YESUN Group, a high-tech, Longhua-based firm specializing in industrial park construction, operations, and investment, shared his thoughts with Shenzhen Daily after the session.

He said, “We are very grateful for this platform, which allowed us to introduce our company’s main business to the guests. After the event, some guests expressed interest in our business. One guest from Tanzania shared details about their country’s technology parks and expressed hope that Chinese companies could collaborate with them in nurturing and supporting early-stage startups. We will bring their requests back, analyze them, and explore potential future collaborations.”
