Shun Hing Square

From: IN SHENZHEN

One of Shenzhen’s older skyscrapers, this 384-meter office tower was Asia’s tallest building when it topped out in the mid-1990s. Built at the rate of four floors every nine days and completed in just 40 months, it was a widely touted exemplar of “Shenzhen speed.”

A little-visited tourist attraction is the Meridian Viewing Center on the 69th floor, with fine views west to Wutongshan Mountain and east to Futian District, with KK100 looming large in the foreground.

It falls well short of Ping An Finance Center’s Free Sky viewing Floor in terms of altitude, but it’s considerably cheaper and the views are almost as good.

Up at the Meridian Viewing Center, you can see famous political figures rendered in wax in a showcase of Shenzhen's history. There are also displays of China's engineering achievements and the ubiquitous high-altitude post box.

The entrance is on the east side of the tower, buy tickets just inside and on the left.

Chinese name: 信兴广场Xìnxīng Guǎngchǎng, Dìwáng Dàshà

Admission: Meridian Viewing Center 80 yuan, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
