Siyue Academy

Overlooked by the thousands of shoppers on this busy Luohu street is a former clan guildhall, which sometimes has gallery exhibits inside.

Note the model of a biānzhōng, an ancient musical bell, on the plaza over there. It’s one of the only remaining historic relics, from the days when Shenzhen was a small market town, still located here (although the building has been relocated from its original spot a couple of streets away).
