City to suspend public transportation at 8 pm

All public transportation in Shenzhen will be suspended in phases starting from 8 p.m. today, according to the Shenzhen Emergency Mobilization Order for Typhoon and Flood Prevention issued earlier today.

At 6 p.m. today, the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory upgraded the city's typhoon alert from orange to red — the highest level — urging the public to take precautions against strong winds and heavy rainfall.


Metro:

The Metro network will close early today, with the last trains departing from terminal stations at 6 p.m. The stations only will allow exit after the last train departs.

All Shenzhen tram routes will have their last departures at 6 p.m. from their respective terminal stations.

Buses and taxis

Buses will gradually cease operations at 7 p.m., and service will be suspended starting at 8 p.m.

Taxis and app-based cabs will stop operations at 8 p.m.

Railways:

Starting from noon today, high-speed and regular trains within Guangdong will be gradually suspended.

All high-speed and regular trains within Guangdong will be suspended for the whole day Thursday.

Train services will gradually resume depending on weather conditions starting Friday.
