Flowers have become an inseparable part of everyday life in Shenzhen, adding color, vitality, and warmth to homes and workplaces. Whether picked up casually from a flower shop to brighten a living room or placed on an office desk to create a pleasant atmosphere, fresh flowers are increasingly part of daily consumption, turning ordinary days into moments of poetry.

For residents and visitors alike, Shenzhen boasts four major flower markets, each with its own character:

Lily Flower Valley 百合花溪谷

Known as the “Lily Flower Town,” this vast 100,000-square-meter market offers an impressive variety of flowers, potted plants, and succulents — mostly at wholesale prices. Many local florists and supermarkets source their stock here. With its European-style courtyards and even small animals onsite, it has become a popular date destination where couples can buy a plant or bouquet as a keepsake.

Transport: Bus M485/M283 to Lily Flower Town stop (百合花卉小镇)

Visitors are attracted to Dutch Flower Town.

Dutch Flower Town 荷兰花卉小镇

Easily accessible and popular with casual shoppers, this market is famous for trendy and seasonal flowers. Its European windmills, flower fields, and expansive lawns make it a photogenic spot for picnics. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Nantou Ancient Town and Nanshan Museum. Prices are slightly higher than in Longgang, but the convenience makes it worthwhile.

Metro: Line 1 to Daxin Station (大新站), Exit C2, then an 8-minute walk

Shenzhen-Hong Kong Flower Center 深港花卉中心

Also known as the Xili Flower Market, this is one of the most cost-effective options in the city. From roses to tulips, visitors can find abundant choices at very affordable prices — roses for around 30 yuan (US$4.2) a bunch, or potted roses under 20 yuan apiece. The market also features lesser-seen varieties. With Xili Lake nearby, it makes for a pleasant outing. The only drawback: parking can be difficult on weekends.

Metro: Line 5 to Xili Station (西丽站), Exit D, then take a bus to the Bao’en Fudi stop (报恩福地)

Bagualing Flower Center 八卦岭花卉中心

Tucked inside the CBD, this compact flower street is smaller than the other markets but convenient for office workers or residents picking up flowers on their way home.

Prices are a bit higher due to its central location, but the range covers everything from bouquets to potted plants. A single bouquet can lift your mood for days.
