Bao'an receives nearly 2 million visitors during holiday

During the recent National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday that ended Oct. 8, Bao’an District received over 1.89 million visitors, a year-on-year increase of 22.23%. The district’s tourism revenue reached 1.658 billion yuan (US$0.23 billion), up 22.81% compared to the same period last year, according to Bao'an Daily.
Domestic tourists accounted for about 1.82 million visits, reflecting a 21% growth, while overseas visitors numbered 75,800, soaring by 61.71% year on year. Domestic tourism revenue totaled 1.534 billion yuan, a rise of 20.59%, and inbound tourism revenue hit 124 million yuan, jumping 58.97%.
To enhance visitor experiences, local attractions organized a variety of themed events. OH Bay, for example, hosted a retro Hong Kong-style music festival, drawing 680,000 visits. Additionally, 36,000 visitors enjoyed rides on the Bay Glory Ferries wheel.
The district also promoted the integration of culture, sports, tourism, and business to boost consumption. Landmarks such as Qianhai Stone Park were paired with Qianhai Snow World to create curated travel routes. Moreover, Bao'an collaborated with major shopping malls to offer promotional coupons, further stimulating cultural and tourism spending.
