Bao'an District is rapidly becoming a popular destination for cycling enthusiasts and families alike, boasting an impressive network of greenways that showcase the perfect blend of urban energy and natural tranquility. From mountain climbs to coastal rides, here’s a guide to some of the best cycling routes the district has to offer.

Fenghuang Mountain Greenway
This 9.1-kilometer greenway offers a dynamic ride, weaving through forest trails, hiking paths, and serene waterfront roads. A highlight of the journey is the historic Fengyan Ancient Temple, a perfect spot for a peaceful respite. The challenging climb is rewarded at the summit with a breathtaking panoramic view where the city skyline meets lush nature.
A proven track for thrill-seekers, the area has hosted numerous mountain biking championships, providing exciting terrain for both beginners and experienced riders.
Metro: Line 11 to Fuyong Station (福永站), then a short taxi to the south gate of Fenghuang Mountain Forest Park
Driving: Parking is available at the public lot of Fenghuang Mountain Park.
Qianhai Bay Section
As a key milestone in Shenzhen’s “Mountains and Seas Connecting the City” initiative, this 6-kilometer stretch is a marvel of urban planning. The path creatively utilizes the space beneath riverside expressway bridges, offering a unique, weather-protected ride safe from sun and rain.

Cyclists are treated to numerous viewing spots perfect for watching freight trains pass by or enjoying the golden sunsets over OH Bay.
Metro: Line 5 to Linhai Station (临海站), Exit B1, and enter the path via OH Bay
Driving: Parking is available at OH Bay’s P5 Lot.
Ring Greenway of Shiyan Lake
As the longest greenway in Shenzhen at 30.8 km, this route is far more than just a path. It connects major attractions including Shiyan Lake Wetland Park, Moshanghua Park, and the Shiyan Reservoir. Voted one of the city’s “top ten” fitness tracks, it features four distinct theme parks, making it an ideal choice for walking, running, and cycling while immersed in a rich natural atmosphere.
Metro: Line 7 to Chaguang Station (茶光站), then transfer to a bus heading to Renda Villa Stop 1
Driving: Convenient parking lots are available at all major parks along the route.
Lixin Lake Greenway
The Lixin Lake greenway features plank roads, lakeside trails and lookouts.
Nestled at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain, the 8.8-kilometer Lixin Lake Ring Greenway masterfully utilizes its waterfront terrain. The path features forest plank roads, landscape platforms, lakeside trails, and outdoor plazas. It’s a comprehensive ecological area designed for nature conservation, recreation, and cultural experiences, standing out as a new highlight in Bao’an’s western coastal area.
Metro: Line 11 to Qiaotou Station (桥头站), then transfer to bus B876
Luotian Forest Park Cycling Path
Shenzhen’s only provincial-level forest park recently unveiled a fantastic 10-kilometer cycling path through lush woodlands. It offers two distinct experiences: the one-way Shenlin Road for speed enthusiasts (15km/h limit) and the two-way Fenglin West and East Roads for a more leisurely, scenic family ride.
The path is alive with nature, offering chances to spot squirrels and birds. Riders can relax and refuel at the picturesque Moon Lake picnic area.
