The event recreated a vivid Xizang atmosphere and featured a Lhasa cultural exhibition area, where visitors could purchase and experience local creative products and intangible cultural heritage items such as Xizang incense and auspicious braided cords.

Lhasa, famed as a sacred snowland, boasts unique high-altitude scenery and a profound cultural heritage. Home to the majestic Potala Palace, the tranquil Lhasa River and the bustling Barkhor Street, the city also enjoys mild, sunny winters, making it an ideal winter travel destination.

At the event, organizers screened a Lhasa tourism promotional film that used striking visuals to immerse the audience in the grandeur of the Potala Palace, the serenity of the Lhasa River, the flow of people along Barkhor Street and the warmth of plateau sunshine.

Ms. Sun Henan, Lhasa’s culture and tourism promotion officer, took the stage to introduce the “Winter in Lhasa” campaign, detailing the city’s signature attractions and preferential policies. From world-class cultural heritage sites to high-altitude folk experiences, from holy-lake treks to Xizang culinary explorations, Sun highlighted a range of offerings designed to spark Shenzhen residents’ interest in winter travel to Lhasa. Local Lhasa tourism operators also presented distinctive itineraries and premium tour packages to Shenzhen’s travel industry professionals and media.

Interactive elements at the venue — including demonstrations in Xizang incense making and braided cord crafts — gave guests handson experiences of Lhasa’s cultural traditions.

To further enliven the program, the Nyangre Folk Art Troupe from Lhasa performed a lively sequence of songs and dances, including the highly engaging Guozhuang dance. Performers brought the dance offstage and invited audience members to join, pushing the event to a rousing climax.

With the winter travel season approaching, Lhasa — celebrated as a “snowland sacred city” — extended a warm invitation to tourists seeking cultural depth, mild winter weather, and unforgettable plateau experiences.

The event was hosted by the Culture and Tourism Authority of Lhasa and organized by China Travel Service (Beijing) Co. Ltd.
