The Banyan Group has officially unveiled its newest luxury resort, the Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay, marking a significant expansion of its portfolio in China. Poised where lush hills meet the South China Sea, the resort is being heralded as a new benchmark for coastal retreats, masterfully blending romantic seclusion with the rich cultural tapestry of the Lingnan region.

The resort enjoys a privileged position on the Zhuhai coastline, offering guests panoramic vistas of two major landmarks: the engineering marvel of the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge and the city’s iconic “Sun and Moon Shell” theatre. Together with its sister property, Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay, the dual-branded complex forms a comprehensive destination for discerning travelers seeking a high-quality escape.

Inspired by the serene waterways of Lingnan, the resort’s 83 spacious sanctuaries, starting from 87 square meters, are designed as artistic havens where architecture flows with the natural landscape. The design philosophy, "Infused with Nature," is evident throughout, with local motifs such as terracotta roof tiles, sunflower lattice windows, and oyster shell walls paying homage to Zhuhai’s maritime heritage. The lobby, conceived as a "Flower Corridor" and "Water Alley," creates an immediate sensory experience of tranquility.

“Zhuhai holds a unique position in the Greater Bay Area,” said Philip Ding, senior vice president of hotel operations and business development for Banyan Group China. “The opening of Banyan Tree Zhuhai Phoenix Bay marks another important milestone in our journey. Through this new sanctuary, we hope to offer guests an experience that embodies romance, nature, and wellbeing.”

The resort redefines coastal living with its expansive guestrooms and suites, many featuring secluded onsen-style hot springs and 12-meter private pools. Nautical themes are woven into the décor, with rooflines mimicking a ship’s sail and marine blue tones echoing the local fishing culture.

Culinary offerings are a journey in themselves. Five distinct venues include XUN, a signature Fujian restaurant; RONG, serving handcrafted Cantonese dim sum; BANG, a whisky and grill bar with stunning bridge views; THE BUTTER, for artisanal Chinese desserts; and MIRROR, a lobby lounge where guests can enjoy tea on a boat floating over reflective waters.

True to the Banyan Tree brand, wellbeing is a cornerstone of the experience. The renowned Banyan Tree Spa offers ocean-view treatment rooms, while a comprehensive program includes Wing Chun martial arts, sound therapy, and beach meditation. The property also features a cliffside hot spring, an ocean-view infinity pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

For special occasions, the pillarless Phoenix Ballroom and its adjacent outdoor lawns provide a picturesque setting for celebrations of all sizes.
