The first Impact Founders Lab Initiative, funded by UBS and launched by the Harmony Community Foundation and Impact Hub Shenzhen, recently held its Impact Showcase Day in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), marking the successful conclusion of this four-month program designed to empower sustainable entrepreneurs.

The initiative brought together 20 highly creative and purpose-driven entrepreneurs.

The four-month initiative marks UBS’s first sustainable entrepreneurship program on the Chinese mainland and reflects UBS’s commitment to fostering responsible business practices and resilient communities. Positioned within the GBA’s high-quality development framework, the program provided participants with structured training, expert mentorship, and access to strategic networks, enabling them to refine their business models and scale their impact.

Marina Lui, Head of Wealth Management China of UBS Global Wealth Management, welcomes participating entrepreneurs to visit UBS‘s office.

Marina Lui, Head of Wealth Management China of UBS Global Wealth Management, stated: “The Impact Founders Lab Initiative embodies UBS’s core value of connection. By linking entrepreneurs with resources and expertise, we help catalyze sustainable innovation and build a community of mutual support. We are proud to support these founders as they continue to drive positive change.”

Miaoting Li, Secretary General of the Harmony Community Foundation, commented: “The GBA is not only a dynamic economic hub but also a fertile ground for sustainable innovation. This initiative provides a platform for changemakers who use business intelligence to address social needs — a place where they can be seen and inspired by one another. We are deeply grateful for UBS’s continued investment in nurturing the region’s community innovation ecosystem and look forward to seeing more practices that integrate business thinking with social value.”

Yuheng Zhao, Co-founder of Impact Hub Shenzhen, added: “The Impact Founders Lab Initiative’s first cohort united 20 early-stage entrepreneurs from sectors like education, sustainable consumption, and accessibility. Over the four-month acceleration journey, the entrepreneurs enhanced their professional capabilities, business acumen, and hands-on experience through structured training, community engagement, and expert mentorship. They also gained valuable opportunities to showcase their projects to potential investors. We are honored to join our partners in witnessing the courage and perseverance behind these entrepreneurial dreams, and to work together in empowering a new generation of changemakers.”

Entrepreneurs shared that the program helped clarify their mission, strengthen their operational strategies, and expand their professional networks. Many expressed a renewed commitment to leveraging business as a force for sustainable development.

UBS will continue to collaborate with charity partners to expand support for sustainable entrepreneurship across the Greater Bay Area and other regions.
