Currently, residents of 47 countries can enter visa-free under a unilateral policy, and there are also a 24-hour transit visa-free policy and a 240-hour visa-free option available for travelers from 55 countries. First time in Shenzhen and worried about customs declarations? Relax. Major ports have clear bilingual (Chinese-English) customs guide signs to point you in the right direction. Ask about the process and the customs staff will walk you through it so you can breeze through without panicking.

第一次来深圳，怕看不懂海关申报要求？放心！在深圳各大口岸的入境大厅，深圳海关精心设置了中英文海关申报指引牌，就像贴心小秘书，为初次来深的外籍游客指明方向。不管是想问申报流程还是有其他疑问，只要开口，工作人员都会耐心解答，帮每一位外国朋友顺顺利利完成海关申报，完全不用慌。

Tip from Shenzhen Customs staffer Lai Siyuan: if you want to prepare before you travel, visit the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) website and search for “Customs Clearance Guide for International Passengers” to get the necessary details in advance.

By accessing this miniprogram, you can find English customs clearance guides and entry-exit consultations, check real-time customs clearance hours and speed — no more itinerary delays from queuing! Even better, users can directly connect to the ports’ free WiFi through the miniprogram. Right after arriving, you can update family on your safety and share joy with friends. Super awesome!
