Shenzhen will impose a temporary ban on all “Low, Slow, Small” (LSS) aircraft and airborne objects within city airspace from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. this Friday, coinciding with the closing ceremony of the 15th National Games.

The restricted LSS category refers to low-altitude, slow-speed, small-sized devices, including light and ultra-light aircraft, light helicopters, gliders and hang gliders, powered parachutes, hot air balloons and airships, all types of drones, model aircraft, tethered and free-floating balloons, and kites.

During the controlled period and within the designated area that covers the entire city, all flight activities and the release of airborne objects of these types are banned unless specifically approved for official tasks related to the closing ceremony, emergency rescue, or police operations.

Individuals and organizations that violate the temporary ban — including flying restricted aircraft, releasing airborne objects, or illegally tampering with drone security control systems — will be dealt with according to law. Penalties may include emergency measures, public security administrative sanctions, and criminal prosecution where applicable.
