First built in 1394 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Dapeng Fortress was strategically important in coastal defense in both the Ming and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. It became a State-protected cultural heritage in 2001 and was named first among the Eight Shenzhen Scenic Spots.

Located in Longhua District, Guanlan Printmaking Village is one of the 10 ancient Hakka villages in Shenzhen. It's a place to explore Shenzhen's creative scene, as parts of this 300-year-old Hakka village have been repurposed into a new artist village with workshops and galleries hosted by printmaking artists from China and overseas.

Modeled on ancient Gankeng villages, the Gankeng Ancient Town, which covers an area of 180,000m2, explores Hakka culture and revitalizes the villages.

Built in 1537 and refurbished in 1828 and 1994, North Deity Ancient Temple in Xixiang was built to worship the North Deity in Chinese religion, one of the cosmological "Five Forms of the Highest Deity."
