This year marks the fifth anniversary of China’s “dual carbon” goals. Having been held for 13 consecutive years, the Shenzhen Low-Carbon City Forum is regarded as a key indicator of green development trends in China and beyond.

A local saying in Dapeng goes: “We may not have money for eggs, but sea urchins are our daily fare.” The abundant resources enabled the tradition of wrapping sea urchin into zongzi got started in Nan'ao, Dapeng. On Nov. 1 and 2, during the Shenzhen International Marine Week 2025, nearly 200 visitors came in four groups to Dapeng Fortress. There, they learned to make sea urchin zongzi themselves, bringing a taste of the sea back home.
