Watch a foreigner pay with PayPal in SZ
TenPay Global, Tencent’s cross-border payment platform, has achieved interoperability with PayPal World. This means PayPal users from around the world can now make seamless payments in China, whether by scanning a merchant’s QR code or presenting their own payment code to be scanned. The service will initially launch for U.S. users, with additional markets to be rolled out in phases. On May 26, Brad Krae, a Shenzhen-based American content creator with more than 200,000 followers on TikTok, tested the feature at Melania Town inside Window of the World in Nanshan District. Using his PayPal wallet, he scanned Weixin Pay QR codes at several merchants — and every transaction went through successfully.
