Delegation from Uzbekistan embarks on the low-carbon journey in SZ
On October 29, a government and business delegation from Uzbekistan embarked on an inspiring low-carbon journey in Shenzhen. As part of the Shenzhen National Low-Carbon City Forum, this visit to the city’s demonstration bases of green and low-carbon technologies offered guests a first-hand look at Shenzhen’s achievements in sustainable innovation and industry development.
Shenzhen Low-Carbon City Forum
On October 28, the 2025 Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Forum and the Shenzhen National Low-Carbon City Forum opened at the Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City, featuring the theme “AI Empowering Urban Green Development” and hosting 14 events over two days. This year marks the fifth anniversary of China’s “dual carbon” goals. Having been held for 13 consecutive years, the Shenzhen Low-Carbon City Forum is regarded as a key indicator of green development trends in China and beyond.
Expats, local residents make traditional sea urchin zongzi
A local saying in Dapeng goes: “We may not have money for eggs, but sea urchins are our daily fare.” The abundant resources enabled the tradition of wrapping sea urchin into zongzi got started in Nan'ao, Dapeng. On Nov. 1 and 2, during the Shenzhen International Marine Week 2025, nearly 200 visitors came in four groups to Dapeng Fortress. There, they learned to make sea urchin zongzi themselves, bringing a taste of the sea back home.

Intl. folk arts festival makes SZ stop
Initiated in 1990, the China International Folk Art Festival has grown over the past three decades into a flagship event for China's non-governmental cultural exchanges with the world. This year marks the festival's debut in Guangdong with Foshan serving as the main venue. The troupes from various countries have also traveled to Zhuhai and Dongguan as part of the tour. On Oct. 20, they arrived in Shenzhen.

A group of American high school students joined their Chinese peers for an exchange event at Yucai High School in Shenzhen on Oct. 16. The event is part of the "China-U.S. Youth Marching Band People-to-People Exchange China Tour."
