On October 28, the 2025 Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Forum and the Shenzhen National Low-Carbon City Forum opened at the Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City, featuring the theme “AI Empowering Urban Green Development” and hosting 14 events over two days. This year marks the fifth anniversary of China’s “dual carbon” goals. Having been held for 13 consecutive years, the Shenzhen Low-Carbon City Forum is regarded as a key indicator of green development trends in China and beyond.
Expats, local residents make traditional sea urchin zongzi
A local saying in Dapeng goes: “We may not have money for eggs, but sea urchins are our daily fare.” The abundant resources enabled the tradition of wrapping sea urchin into zongzi got started in Nan'ao, Dapeng. On Nov. 1 and 2, during the Shenzhen International Marine Week 2025, nearly 200 visitors came in four groups to Dapeng Fortress. There, they learned to make sea urchin zongzi themselves, bringing a taste of the sea back home.
