The Affiliated International School (Yunhaigu Campus) of Shenzhen University and Hong Kong Beacon International Education will give full play to their respective advantages to carry out comprehensive cooperation in creating education based on the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE), according to an agreement the two parties signed Sept. 19.
Through cooperation, the two schools aim to integrate high-quality international education resources, create a high-end international education atmosphere in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and create better conditions for the in-depth integration of the GBA and the exchange of youth between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Eddie Ng, former director of the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, said at the ceremony that the two parties should provide students with international education with Chinese characteristics, and work together to cultivate talents for the country.
According to the agreement, the two schools will adopt full-time boarding HKDSE high school courses at the Yunhaigu campus, follow the refined learning materials and question banks of Beacon, adopt a bilingual teaching method, and hire professional teachers from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
The campus will also offer international art classes for customized training of art-related majors and guidance for further studies. There will also be some school clubs in the fields of sports, art, academics, etc., providing space for the development of students’ hobbies, broadening students’ horizons, and allowing them to show and improve their personal leadership, organization and teamwork skills.
