Metro Line 22 will run along the city’s central axis from Futian Bonded Zone in the south to northern Guanlan that borders Dongguan, according to a plan released by the city’s planning and natural resources bureau Monday on its official website.
The 38-kilometer rail line covers Futian Bonded Zone, Chegongmiao, Xiangmihu, Meilin, Minzhi, Banxuegang, Luhu and Guanlan areas. It will provide exchanges with Metro lines including lines 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 18, 21, 24, 25 and 27, as well as intercity rails such as Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Railway and Shenzhen-Guangzhou Central Axis Intercity Railway.
Upon completion of Line 22, passengers from Futian can reach Guanlan in 45 minutes and the border area with Dongguan within 60 minutes.
Two train depots covering 39.9 hectares of land will be built near Liguang Station near the border with Dongguan and Xiangmi South Station in Futian District, respectively.
Line 22 will be extended to connect with Metro lines in Dongguan in the future.
