Meaning:
“川沙” refers to “Chuansha Township” in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, and “妲己” was the name of a beautiful concubine of Di Xin, the last king of the Shang Dynasty (about 1600-1050 B.C.). The historical figure Daji became widely known to the Chinese as she is mentioned in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) novel “Creation of the Gods” (“Fengshen Yanyi”). The novel introduces her as an attractive woman who was murdered by a fox who then usurped her body and led the king to a lifestyle of debauchery. Chinese netizens coined this term as a nickname for LinaBell, a smart pink fox in the Duffy and Friends toyline that was introduced in 2021 at Shanghai Disneyland, which is located in Chuansha Township. A nature-loving detective, LinaBell has won the hearts of millions.
Example:
A: 听说上海迪斯尼终于又开放了。
Tīngshuō shànghǎi dísīní zhōngyú yòu kāifàng le。

B: 是的。马上要放暑假了,我准备带小朋友去看川沙妲己。
Shì de。Mǎshàng yào fàng shǔjià le,wǒ zhǔnbèi dài xiǎopéngyou qù kàn chuānshā dájǐ。
Yeah. The summer vacation will soon begin, and I am considering taking my kid to visit LinaBell.
