Bao'an District released a spatial development plan at a forum held Friday to build “one belt, two centers and four advanced manufacturing areas.”
The release of the spatial development strategy is part of the development framework the district released this year. By mapping out the plan, the district aims to enhance Shenzhen’s role as a core engine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and inject new momentum for high-quality development.
Bao’an will specifically build an airport economic belt including Airport East Business Headquarters Zone, Jiuwei International Headquarters Zone and Lixin Lake Science and Technology Headquarters Zone, aiming to promote domestic-international dual circulation and fully utilize the comprehensive transport hub for the GBA’s development.
The two centers in the plan refer to Bao’an’s central area and the new western city center. The new city center covers three subdistricts namely Shajing, Xinqiao and Songgang in north Bao’an.
The center will be equipped with high-quality public service facilities, build open people-oriented blue and green spaces, and upgrade research and development innovation services, as well as science and technology.
It will also lead the development of Dongguan and the new metropolitan centers on the west side of the Pearl River, according to the report.
The four advanced manufacturing areas are Yanluo International Intelligent Manufacturing Eco-city, Shiyan Science and Technology Innovation City, Shenzhen-Hong Kong Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Cooperation Zone and Xinqiao East Advanced Industrial Park.
