SZ scholars listed in global academic impact rankings

A total of 15 scholars from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) and four professors from the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen were included in the global scholar academic impact rankings 2022.

The rankings were recently released by the academic literature query and analysis system www.globalauthorid.com.

Tang Benzhong from CUHK-Shenzhen ranked 76th globally and third nationally for materials science and engineering, and chemistry subjects. Other listed scholars from CUHK-Shenzhen include Zhu Shiping, Zhang Dapeng, Luo Zhiquan and Huang Hsien-Da.

The four listed professors from the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen are Zhang Zheng, Lu Hongzhou, Liu Lei and Liu Yingxia, according to the rankings.

The rankings included 100,000 scholars around the world. China (9,044 listed scholars) ranked second in terms of the number of listed scholars, following the United States (40,220 listed scholars).

In terms of institutions, Harvard University has the most listed scholars (2,219).

The rankings are based on centralized processing and calculations of nearly 30 years of published literature by scholars in all disciplines around the world and employed indicators such as journal metrics, frequency of citations, type of paper and author contributions, according to the website.
